For Vancouver shoppers, the end of summer means one thing: one of the city’s most anticipated warehouse sales is almost here.
The Aritzia Warehouse Sale returns September 1–7, 2026, taking over the Vancouver Convention Centre West Building at 1055 Canada Place. Shoppers can expect discounts ranging from 50% to 90% off across clothing and accessories, with new merchandise arriving daily.
And if previous years are any indication, getting the best deals may require more than simply showing up when the doors open.
Past editions have attracted huge lineups, with some dedicated shoppers arriving the night before.
So, is waking up before sunrise worth saving up to 90%?
That’s what we’re asking Canadians.
What to Know Before You Go
The public sale runs for seven days, but the hours change during the week.
From Tuesday, September 1 through Saturday, September 5, doors will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. On Sunday, September 6 and Monday, September 7, the sale runs from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is free.
According to the Vancouver Convention Centre, everything at the event will be 50% to 90% off.
Shoppers can expect jackets, coats, dresses, blouses, denim, pants, skirts, accessories and other pieces across Aritzia’s brands. New styles are also expected to arrive daily, meaning opening morning isn’t necessarily your only opportunity to find something good.
How Big Are the Discounts?
Some of the announced examples show why the sale attracts so much attention.
A Worldly Poplin Dress regularly priced at $148 is expected to be $49.99, while a $425 Powder Parka Long is listed at $174.99. A $278 Mesh Cashmere Oversized Crew Sweater is expected to drop to $59.99.
With discounts reaching as high as 90%, it’s easy to understand why shoppers are willing to turn the event into an early-morning mission.
The Aritzia Warehouse Sale Survival Guide
Before heading downtown, there are a few rules worth knowing.
Only small bags are permitted inside the sale; larger bags, backpacks and other personal items need to be checked at the mandatory bag check. The event also uses communal fitting rooms, something first-time shoppers may want to know before arriving.
Accepted payment methods include cash, debit, credit cards and Apple Pay. However, Aritzia gift cards will not be accepted at the warehouse sale.
Food isn’t allowed inside the sale area, although water bottles are permitted.
And despite the reputation for massive opening-day crowds, there’s one useful detail for anyone who values sleep: new merchandise arrives daily. Showing up later in the week doesn’t automatically mean everything worth buying will already be gone.
Why Canadians Still Love a Deal
The excitement around a major warehouse sale comes at an interesting time for Canadian consumers.
The latest Statistics Canada 2026 Consumer Price Index basket update, based on 2025 household spending, shows that clothing and footwear accounted for 4.50% of household consumption expenditures included in the CPI basket, up slightly from 4.40% in 2024. Statistics Canada noted that consumers directed a slightly higher share of spending toward clothing in 2025.
Retail data also shows Canadians haven’t stopped buying clothes. Statistics Canada reported that retail clothing sales increased 4.5% year-over-year in December 2025, including a 6.1% increase in women’s clothing sales.
At the same time, households are balancing fashion spending against much larger expenses. Shelter represented 28.51% of the 2025 CPI basket, food 16.83% and transportation 17.87%.
That doesn’t prove Canadians are flocking to warehouse sales because of the cost of living. But it does provide useful context for why getting a favourite brand at a steep discount can be especially appealing.
Watch: Would You Line Up at 4 A.M. for the Aritzia Warehouse Sale?
We asked Canadians whether they’d wake up at 4 a.m. for the chance to score Aritzia at up to 90% off—or sleep in and take their chances. Here’s what they had to say.
More Than Just a Sale
The 2026 event also has a community component.
The Aritzia Warehouse Sale Community Shop is returning for its fifth year, providing a back-to-school shopping experience for more than 500 participants, each receiving a $250 voucher to shop the sale. For 2026, the initiative is also expanding to provide first-job opportunities for 40 high school students through programs supported by YWCA Metro Vancouver and Minerva. Unsold warehouse-sale merchandise is donated to community partners.
For a company that was founded in Vancouver in 1984, the annual warehouse sale has become more than another discount event. It’s part bargain hunt, part endurance test and, for some Vancouver shoppers, practically an end-of-summer tradition.
So, Is 4 A.M. Worth It?
If you’re determined to be among the first shoppers through the doors, you’ll probably want an early alarm, comfortable shoes and a plan.
But if the idea of standing in line before sunrise sounds miserable, there’s good news: the sale lasts seven days and new styles are expected throughout the event.
The real decision might not be whether to go.
It’s how early you’re willing to wake up for the deal.
Are you lining up at 4 a.m., or sleeping in and taking your chances?
